King's Lynn Wedding Photographer

Hi guys, thanks for stopping by! I’m James, a King’s Lynn wedding photographer in Norfolk specialising in storytelling wedding photography, family and lifestyle photography. Photography has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I originally started out working in a photo studio before moving on to become a lifestyle photographer and venturing into the realm of wedding photography. I attended weddings as a second shooter for almost five years, before eventually taking the plunge and going solo. All of my hard work finally paid off and I’m now one very lucky guy that appreciates having a full time job doing something awesome that I truly enjoy.

How It All Started

Although I’ve been working as a full time photographer since 2012, it all started way back in 1999. This was the year that I started college, and it was actually an open day that inspired me. I saw some fantastic images put on display by some of the photography students, after which I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a new camera and dive into the world of photography. Sadly, it didn’t take long for me to realise that I needed some kind of tuition to become a skilled photographer. There’s so much involved when it comes to taking great photos, and I was really keen to learn. Gripped by my newfound interest, I decided to enrol at the college for a diploma in photography, and I started gaining experience by working with a handful of professional photographers on the side. I was immediately drawn to the intricate world of wedding photography. Luckily, I had a family friend who was a professional wedding photographer, happy to hire me as a second shooter in order to practise. Over the years I shot more and more weddings which really helped to increase my confidence. Now it all just comes naturally, making camera adjustments and taking amazing photos without even having to think about it.

Flash forward to 2012, James Malkin Photography was established, and I have since undertaken all kinds of photography work, including: studio portraiture, outdoor family lifestyle, commercial, weddings and events.

Life In Norfolk

In 2014 after getting married to my beautiful wife in Orlando, Florida, we decided to move away from the hustle and bustle of London and venture into the Norfolk countryside. We have recently welcomed our first born little monkey into the family and have enjoyed every minute of Norfolk so far.

As a wedding and lifestyle photographer I couldn’t ask for more. Norfolk is a great place to live, being home to so many beautiful parks and woodlands, not to mention its gorgeous coastlines. I am totally spoilt for choice when it comes to scoping out locations for lifestyle shoots, and on top of all that, it is also home to some of the most amazing wedding venues that England has to offer, which is an absolute bonus.
